Breath of the Wild Champion Amiibo Still Available For Pre-Order at Walmart

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

I’ve done some pretty miserable things in order to get the impressive amiibo collection that I have, but perhaps the lowest I’ve been forced to sink on this painful and frustrating journey is having to shop at Walmart.

I hate Walmart with a passion. They’re terrible for the economy, and visiting any of their overcrowded, poorly maintained stores feels like a trip into the bowels of Hell.

But, at the time of this writing, they have three of the four Champions from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild in their amiibo form.

The figures look great, and GameStop is said to have sold through their allotted pre-orders in less than 24 hours. But Walmart — the shamefully evil Walmart — has some pre-orders left in stock. Unfortunately, they don’t seem to carry Mipha (or the figure is just plain sold out), but I was able to make a transaction to claim my place in line for Daruk, Revali, and Urbosa.

Now, it’s quite possible that this was some sort of error on Walmart’s part, and I might end up finding an email in my inbox that begins with the line, “We’re sorry!” However, if everything goes exactly as my confirmation number tells me it will, I will be picking up three Breath of the Wild champions the day they land on store shelves.

I wish I had more faith in this system, but Nintendo has done nothing but fail in regards to amiibo population for three solid years now. There’s no reason to have any sort of faith that they’ll stop being Nintendo anytime soon.

If you want to spin the roulette wheel and hit up Walmart for some amiibo figures, here’s a link to Revali to get you started. I won’t judge you.
