Horizon Zero Dawn in Pictures: Giving You the Time of Day

Horizon Zero Dawn

Horizon Zero Dawn is an unquestionably gorgeous game. It seems like every couple of minutes I stumble upon the perfect tableau or camera framing.

And due to the incredibly powerful Photo Mode, I find myself taking screenshots more often than doing anything else in the game. Don’t quite like the placement of the sun? No problem, you can use a slider to adjust the time of day to find that perfect image.

With so many of these pictures filling up my PS4’s hard drive, it I would be a disservice to the Lightgun Galaxy community — and to the grandeur of this epic game — to not share some of them.

So without further ado, I hope you enjoy the first installment of a new photography series, “Horizon Zero Dawn in Pictures.”

For the first series of pictures, I decided to toy with the time of day slider to capture the same shot during several parts of a single day.

[insert pics for nature dawn, nature morning, nature mid-morning, nature mid-day, nature dusk, nature night]

For the next series, I decided to keep the Aloy-free theme going and capture some nature shots.

And for my final picture, here’s one of my favorites:

Emerging from the shadows

This was taken in a mundane, run-of-the-mill forest area alongside a few knolls. The way the trees cast shadows that frame the sun-bathed glen is simply illuminating.

And thus concludes my first installment of “Horizon Zero Dawn in Pictures.” I have a ton more to share and I’m sure tons more that I have as of yet collected.
