Gwent Getting PS4 Technical Beta This Weekend

Gwent

We’ve known for a while now that Gwent, the mega-popular card game from The Witcher 3, is getting a standalone version. No, this isn’t the physical card game that launched as a bonus for picking up The Witcher 3‘s expansion packs; this is a free-to-play collectible card game for PC and consoles.

PC players have had a shot at getting into a closed beta version for some time, but PS4 owners will finally get to see what all the fuss is about in a weekend-long open beta event. From 10 a.m. PST on Friday, March 31, to 11 p/m/ PST on Sunday, April 2, the PS4 beta version of the game will be available to download in the PlayStation Store.

Gwent

The Witcher 3 was a cultural phenomenon, and the in-game version of Gwent was far better than anyone had expected it to be. The physical card game — with beautifully made cards — seemed like a bit of a letdown due to how difficult it is to actually play with real cards, so a standalone video game version seems like the perfect solution for those who want to spend more time with Gwent.
