I should probably preface this thing with a warning: there are humongous spoilers ahead. If you’re cool with that, or if you’ve already completed Breath of the Wild, carry on.
So you want to know where to find the Bow of Light in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild? Slow your roll there, buddy. Sure, it’s the best bow in the game. Sure, it has infinite ammo, since it shoots beams of light instead of arrows. And sure, it’s invincible, so it won’t eventually break like other items. So I get it that you want to figure out how to acquire one for yourself.
But the thing is, this bow is literally the last item you’ll receive in the game, and it has one purpose: to defeat Ganon’s final form, Dark Beast Ganon.
To get it, you don’t have to do anything special, just defeat Calamity Ganon in Hyrule Castle. There will be a cutscene, and Zelda will bestow this magnificent weapon upon you. Easy peasy.
But once you finish this boss fight, the game is over. You can’t carry the Bow of Light over into your main game save file; you lose this item as soon as the credits roll.
Now, for completing the game, you do get a star on your save file. And any pictures you’ve taken during this boss fight will carry over into that starred save file. But the Bow of Light? That’s a one-time-use item.
However, there is one caveat to this. There is a very similar item, the Twilight Bow. It fires beams of light, just like the Bow of Light, but it’s not infinitely durable. It will eventually break down and shatter.
The luckiest of players can acquire the Twilight Bow by scanning the Zelda amiibo — the one from Super Smash Bros., not the one from Breath of the Wild. You can scan this amiibo figure once per day, which will cause a chest to drop from the sky. There is a chance that this chest will contain the Twilight Bow. Like the Twilight armor (which you can try to get from the Super Smash Bros. Link amiibo), this is a mega-rare drop, so you might be scanning for several days before you get your hands on it.
Still, if you’ve been dreaming of finding a way to bring the Bow of Light into the main game in Breath of the Wild, the Twilight Bow is the closest you’re going to get. For now, at least…
