New Zelda Amiibo May Unlock Breath of the Wild’s Fierce Deity and Sky Armor Sets

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

In The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, there are a couple armor sets that no one’s been able to claim yet. Many players were beginning to suspect that these armor sets would be tied to amiibo figures that Nintendo was planning on launching in the future. With April 12’s Nintendo Direct event, that theory is gaining some real weight.

Nintendo has announced three new Zelda amiibo figures, slated for a June 23 launch date.

New Zelda Amiibo Figures 2017

As you can see in the above image, the new figures depict Link as he appeared in Majora’s Mask, Twilight Princess, and Skyward Sword. These match nicely with three armor sets in Breath of the Wild: the Fierce Deity set, the Twilight set, and the Sky set.

The Twilight set is already unlockable in the game, but it would be nice if there was an alternate amiibo figure that would open it up for more players. Neither of the other two sets is currently obtainable.

We’re assuming the Fierce Deity set — which includes the Fierce Deity Mask, the Fierce Deity Armor, and the Fierce Deity Boots — is tied to the Majora’s Mask amiibo. That means the Sky set — which includes the Cap of the Sky, the Tunic of the Sky, and the Trousers of the Sky — would be unlocked using the Skyward Sword amiibo.

These armor sets were among Breath of the Wild‘s many mysteries, and we’re thankful to be inching closer to more concrete answers. Still, we’ll have to wait until June 23 to find out for sure.
