Confirmed: Theed, Yavin 4, and Mos Eisley in Star Wars Battlefront II

Star Wars Battlefront 2 Theed

There are a million little details to obsess over in the multiplayer gameplay trailer for Star Wars Battlefront II. Hidden among those details is a glimpse at the game’s locations. We’ll be visiting some iconic planets, moons, and cities from across the entire Star Wars franchise.

Theed

The inclusion of Theed shouldn’t come as a surprise, as EA had teased this in the week leading up to EA Play. In The Phantom Menace, Theed is the capital city of Naboo and the home of the Royal Palace, where Padmé Amidala serves as Queen.

While The Phantom Menace might be the worst of all the Star Wars movies, the Battlefront II version of it looks incredible, packed with mayhem, battle droids, and vehicular combat.

Yavin 4

Next, we have Yavin 4, which we’ve seen in A New Hope and Rogue One. The giveaway here is the ancient temple in the background.

The quick shot of Chewbacca we see probably also takes place on Yavin 4. Take a close look at the background for more temples.

Yavin 4 was one of the places we got to visit back in the original Battlefront games from the early 2000s, and its absence was pretty glaring in EA’s 2015 Battlefront reboot. It’s reappearance, then, is something to get excited about.

Mos Eisley

Star Wars Battlefront 2 Mos Espa

We’re shown a very quick peek of Tatooine, but it’s enough for eagle-eyed viewers to pick out Mos Eisley.

Now, this could also be Mos Espa from The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones, but I’m not convinced. The rounded rooftops are definitely reminiscent of Mos Espa, but that’s a building feature that Mos Eisley shares. And the screenshot below from the first Battlefront II trailer suggests Mos Eisley. Plus, Mos Eisley was featured in Pandemic’s Battlefront series from the early 2000s, and fans have been requesting it for the EA/DICE series since it was absent from the first entry.

We’re also shown a battle between Rey and Kylo Ren in an indoor location, which looks remarkably similar to the Lars homestead as portrayed in Attack of the Clones.

If Wookiepedia’s Tatooine map is to be believed, the homestead is closer to Mos Eisley than Mos Espa by a long shot, though it’s even closer to Anchorhead. So perhaps this indoor location is a different map?

Now, these are just a few of the locations we’ll see in Star Wars Battlefront II, so I’m sure the list of confirmed locations will continue to grow as we learn more about the game.
