Animal Crossing: New Horizons – How to Get the Cutting Board Recipe Using Lolly’s Amiibo Card

Animal Crossing: New Horizons Sprinkle

The Cutting Board is one of the most coveted DIY crafting recipes in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The main reason for this is that it’s a component in the Ironwood Kitchenette, which is one of the most stylish kitchen pieces in the game. However, getting the Cutting Board recipe is no easy task, and many players have logged dozens of hours in the game without uncovering one.

If you try to find an easy solution online, you’ll most likely get a lot of the same answers everyone already knows. Yes, you can potentially find the recipe washed up on shore in a glass bottle. You might find a balloon that drops one. You might even have one of your villagers teach it to you. All of these methods have an enormous flaw: they put you at the mercy of the game’s random nature.

However, there is one method for unlocking the Cutting Board that will always work. It just requires Lolly’s amiibo card, as well as the amiibo card for another villager (it doesn’t matter which villager, so long as it’s not Lolly).

First, you’ll need to scan Lolly’s amiibo card. Lolly will show up at your campsite, and when you visit her, you’ll need to talk to her until she asks for you to craft her something. She’ll pick an item, and if you don’t know how to make it, she’ll hand you the recipe. One of the recipes in her small pool of items is the Cutting Board.

If she doesn’t ask you for the Cutting Board the first day, you can invite her back a second time the following day and try again. If not on the second try, you can try again a third time. After the third time, however, you need to ask her to live on your island. Once she moves in, you’ll need to repeat this same process with a non-Lolly amiibo, and then invite the new character to move in. You’ll get to choose who gets booted, so make sure you choose Lolly. Once Lolly moves out, you’ll be able to scan her amiibo card again and start the process over again. It might take you several tries, but eventually she should give you the Cutting Board DIY recipe.
