Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning Reveals a Stealthy Little Trailer

Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning sounds like it was dreamt up by a hardcore fantasy fan in a feverish freakout of fandom — something that was far too good to ever be real. It brought together fantasy author R.A. Salvatore, Spawn creator Todd McFarlane, and Ken Rolston, who had worked on D&D and was the lead designer on both The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Somehow, this creative team was actually real, and they all got together to make Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning.

The original game released way back in 2012. It was long overdo for a current-gen remaster, and it’s getting one in just a couple short weeks. Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning releases September 8, 2020, on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

To celebrate the upcoming remaster, a new trailer was released, which shows off the stealthier side of combat and the Finesse ability tree. (Note: the skill tree actually shown in the trailer is the Might ability tree for some reason.) Needless to say, there’s a lot of sneaking and stabbing in this trailer. Even so, this is just a tiny little taste of what you can expect from the game’s 50-hour playtime.

On top of the new remaster, the game is also getting a new expansion in 2021 called Fatesworn. It’s a grand time to be a fan of Kingdoms of Amalur.
