If you’re playing The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and you have some Zelda-themed amiibo figures lying around, you probably want to start scanning them. Each figure grants you a pile of bonus items once per day, and you’ve got a chance for some incredibly rare loot, like the Cap of Time from Ocarina of Time:
Or the Tunic of the wind from Wind Waker:
However, if you’ve tried to scan an amiibo figure after Daylight Saving Time, you might have noticed an error message telling you that you’ve already scanned that figure today. You know you haven’t actually scanned that figure today, so what gives?
Apparently, this is just some sort of bug with the Nintendo Switch’s internal clock. All you have to do is power the Switch down and power it back on. Simple enough, right?
Wait a minute, how do you power the Switch down? The only options in the menu are Sleep Mode and Airplane Mode, and neither of those will shut the Switch down completely. The only way to do this is using the tiny power button on the top of the unit, right next to the volume button.
Hold this down and a menu should pop up. From that menu, you should be able to power your Switch down. Once it’s off, you can press that same power button to restart it.
Try this, and you should be back to scanning amiibo figures for Breath of the Wild like a true legend.
