In Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back — the second game in the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy — the various colored gems don’t work the way they did in the original Crash Bandicoot game. For example, to get the Red Gem in the first game, you had to break every box in Slippery Climb without dying. This time, there’s a bit more variety in the way these gems are handled.
To get the Red Gem in Snow Go, you must find a secret passage. If you’re playing the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, this is hinted at in the level’s loading screen.
Now, you’ve probably tried everything. You can even see the Red Gem in the second section of Snow Go; you just can’t get to it.
Note that in the original Crash Bandicoot 2, you could actually perform a slide jump move to get this Red Gem, even though that was technically cheating. In the N. Sane Trilogy, they moved it out of reach so you have to play fair and use the secret passage.
The thing that makes this so confusing is that the secret passage isn’t in Snow Go at all; it’s actually in Air Crash, which is on the second floor of the Warp Room. In order to get here, you’ll first have to defeat Ripper Roo, then take the Warp Room elevator up a level.
Enter the portal for Air Crash, and begin heading forward. When you get to the first dock, pictured below, don’t get on the surfboard.
Instead, bounce on the boxes floating in the water to get to a stone platform. This will warp you to a secret Warp Room.
From here, enter the Snow Go portal to be taken to the Snow Go secret passage. Simply follow this passage to its end and you should drop onto the Red Gem.

How do u bounce on the boxes on water. It’s driving me crazy
the best platformer advice i can give is to watch your shadow more than your character. if you follow the shadow you always know when you will land. when the shadow is over the boxes you are in line
Thank you for this help Josh!
