Since their debut in Melee, the Ice Climbers have been among the most complex characters in the Smash Bros. roster. The two fighters, Nana and Popo, are a package deal. You can’t play as just one; you have to control both of them at the same time.
Initially, playing both characters at once might not seem like much of a challenge. Nana and Popo mimic each other’s actions, which means you normally only have to input one set of commands. However, it’s actually possible to desync the pair, allowing the Ice Climbers to act independently.
Desyncing the Ice Climbers definitely isn’t easy; it can be hard to pull off even if you know what you’re doing. That said, if you decide to main these warmly-clad fighters, this is a skill you’re going to have to master.
There are a number of ways to separate the Ice Climbers from each other, but some techniques are easier than others. Once you get a handle on these basic desyncing techniques — and have a sense of what it’s like to input commands for two characters — you can move on to more complex strategies.
The simplest desynchronization method is to hold the special button and the grab button at the same time. As long as you miss your grab, this should desync the Ice Climbers, allowing you to input different commands for Nana and Popo.
Another option is to execute something called a pivot cancel. To do this, you’ll want to put the Ice Climbers into the run state. Flick the directional stick in the opposite direction. When the turnaround animation for the character begins, you’ll want to hold the stick in the previous direction while holding down the special button. Timing this properly can be tricky, but it gets a lot easier with practice.
While these are the most basic desynching methods for the Ice Climbers, there are many other tricks to try. Follow his advice, and you’ll be able to turn the tiny Ice Climbers into an unstoppable combo machine.
easy way to desync up b and as soon as nana hits the ground input a command a then you desynced
Thats super risky to be honest btw but it is the most easy
