A Beginner’s Guide to Buying Horses in Red Dead Online

Red Dead Redemption 2 Arabian Stallion

If you play Red Dead Redemption 2‘s online mode, one thing you’ll likely spend a lot of time thinking about is buying horses. The game features a pretty bulky selection of our equine companions, and it’s really fun to try to collect as many of them as you reasonably can.

However, in the early stages of the game, it’s not exactly intuitive or easy to pick a good horse. Thankfully, my friend Classy Kawalaa has created a beginner’s guide to buying horses.

In this 18-minute video, Classy Kawalaa walks you through everything you need to know about buying your first horse. Like his previous Red Dead Redemption 2 guide, he records himself doing all of this on a low-level character.

Obviously, almost all of the horses are locked to low-level players, but there is one horse in particular that should catch your eye before level 20, the Arabian Stallion. Classy Kawalaa breaks down this horse’s stats and makes a good case for the Arabian Stallion to be one of your first in-game purchases.

Additonally, he explains how saddles impact stats, weighs the benefits of using gold to purchase horses, and walks through some of the higher-level horses that you will be drooling over while you’re still a newbie.

The video is packed with information, and if you have any questions about horse-buying in Red Dead Redemption 2, Kawalaa’s guide is a must-watch.
